Why root an Android device?

As i described in my post earlier the definition of rooting. In this post i am going to discuss some major factors that why you should root an android device? What are the advantages & disadvantages of rooting an android device? How rooting android benefits you? So let's have some discussion on this topic.

When you buy a new Android phone, you're just a guest user on the phone. You can use the phone as you want to as guest uses Windows, but you will not be able to make any changes to the system files. However, after you've a root access over your phone, you could browse your Android root folder and make any changes to the systems files as well. And that really mean the ability to make all kinds of changes, install powerful apps that you cannot use on non-rooted phone.

Now i will list down some reasons that why you should root your Android phone.

  1. If your mobile is running slow & you are feeling lags then rooting is the best solution
  2. You cannot backup your complete android phone if non rooted, if you want to backup all your apps, os and data then rooting is what you should go for.
  3. Some powerful apps are not compatible with non rooted phones, if you want to use all the features your android carry then try rooting.
  4. If you're facing battery issues then rooting might be the solution for you.
  5. If you want to use the latest version of Android but your mobile vendor has stopped offering you updates for the Android, then definitely to get the most out of your Android device and to install the latest Android you need rooting.
  6. You can overclock your phone for better performance or you can under clock your phone to save battery
  7. You want to get rid of pre-installed crap like ChatOn, News & Weather, Print Service, Earth, Talkback and other system apps, then there is a solution available for your device. Root!
  8. You can flash a custom Kernel if you're rooting which opens the door for features like better performance, better battery life, fast charging.
  9. Flash a custom rom which is considered to be the best benefit of rooting as it truly changes how you use your phone. It brings a new experience to your android and you'll start loving it once again.
Couple of disadvantages of rooting your android phone are:
  1. You might end up bricking your device if you're a noob in this. You device will be as dead like a rock if you failed to do rooting in an appropriate manner.
  2. You void your phone's warranty if anything happens to your phone even if it's in the warranty period and company will charge you for the repairs. Although there are some methods too which can un-root your device and bring it back in the same state you bought them.
So, you’ve been acquainted and warned. If you think that rooting the phone to run special applications and custom ROM is worth is, go ahead. If you think it’s not worth the hassle, stay put. At the end of the day, it’s depends on your usage and what you want your phone to do for you.

Root at your own risk. You can ask me a question anytime by posting on my blog and i will surely help you out. Ask box is at the end of my blog, raise your hand there.
